Mike Sheerin

Executive Chef, 

Named a "Rising Star" by StarChefs in 2008, Chicago native Michael Sheerin first began his career as a chef by attending culinary school at Grand Rapids Community College. After working in New York restaurants such as Lutèce, Atlas, and Jean-Georges, Sheerin held the position of sous chef under Wylie Dufresne at WD-50 for nearly four years. Upon returning to his hometown in the midwest, he became the first-ever chef de cuisine under James Beard award-winning chef Paul Kahan at Michelin Star-rated Blackbird. While working with Kahan, Sheerin was recognized as one of ten "Best New Chefs" in the country by Food & Wine Magazine in 2010.  Now, Sheerin takes the next step in his career to launch CICCHETTI, a Venetian-inspired small plate concept in Streeterville, by collaborating with 45-year restaurant industry veteran Dan Rosenthal. As Executive Chef, CICCHETTI will give Sheerin the chance to explore clean, ingredient-focused interpretations of classic Italian cuisine.
